DVSA Theory Test and Hazard Perception
The UK theory test consists of two parts. The multiple choice section and the hazard perception
section.
For cars and motorcycles you'll be asked 50 questions in 57 minutes and the pass mark is 43 out of 50.
The hazard perception section consists of 14 movie clips containing 15 scoring hazards, so one clip will
contain 2 scoring hazards. You must score at least 44 out of a possible 75 marks to pass this part.
You must pass the multiple choice and the hazard perception parts at the same time to pass the
theory test.
When you take your theory test you will need to take both parts of your driving licence with you.
You can start learning to drive before passing the theory test but once you have passed, you have 2 years to
pass the practical driving test.
Lots of learning books and discs are available from bookshops, supermarkets and computer games shops.
